Our Compliance Program ensures that Wildwood Programs adhere to federal and state rules, regulations and applicable laws. Our Compliance department strengthens Wildwood’s mission and values by ensuring the organization’s operations are of integrity and of the highest ethical standards.  Wildwood’s Compliance program is aimed at mitigating any fraud, waste or abuse.

Corporate Compliance Program

Wildwood Programs is required by Federal and State Law to develop and implement a Corporate Compliance Program that is integrated within all positions at Wildwood and promotes an overall commitment and expectation that services provision and operations are efficient, and in accordance with legal and ethical standards. This program is designed to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse.

Wildwood Programs has a dedicated Compliance Officer responsible for the everyday operations of the Corporate Compliance Program including but not limited to initiating or reviewing any internal/external audits, creating/implementing the Corporate Compliance Work Plan, reviewing agency Policies and Procedures, recording any reports of fraud, waste or abuse and ensuring that all employees, volunteers and contractors of Wildwood Programs is educated on our Corporate Compliance Plan.

What is Fraud, Waste or Abuse?

 

Fraud – Wrongful, intentional,  or deceptive intended result of financial or personal gain. 

Waste – Overutilization of services or payment. It is not usually the cause of criminal intent to waste.

Abuse – payment for items or services when there is no legal entitlement to that payment and the individual or entity has not knowingly and/or intentionally misrepresented facts to obtain payment.

 

Examples of Fraud, Waste and Abuse:

  • Billing for services that have not been rendered.
  • Charging for a service rendered more than once.
  • Falsifying records used to bill  Medicaid or Medicare.
  • Not timely reporting and returning overpayments
  • Violating applicable laws, rules and regulations
  • Accepting a bribe or a kickback from a vendor or contractor

This list is not a complete list of Fraud, Waste and Abuse but a small example. 

 

Your Compliance Program Responsibilities:

 

All Wildwood Programs Officers, employees, volunteers, interns, board members, contractors and vendors:

  • Is trained on  the Corporate Compliance Program;
  • Is trained on the Corporate Compliance Policies and Procedures; 
  • Report any suspected compliance concerns to your supervisor, Corporate Officer, or Anonymous Hotline;
  • Adhere to Wildwood Programs Whistleblower Policy, protecting anyone who reports a concern in good faith from retaliation.
