There are some new faces in Wildwood's leadership. We'd like to introduce you to some new members of the Wildwood team. We welcome Bill LeForestier as Director of Wildwood School, Tracy Blowers as Director of Training and Staff Development, and Mark Armstrong as the Strategic Director of Home/Housing Supports.
Bill LeForestier, the Director of Wildwood School, joined us at the beginning of July, and comes to Wildwood from the Kingston City School District, where he served as Assistant Superintendent for Special Education. He has previously held educational leadership positions at Vanderheyden, WSWHE BOCES, Shenendehowa Central School District, and the Enlarged Troy City School District. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from Hartwick College, a Masters Degree in Special Education from Sage College, and permanent certifications from the NYS Education Department as a Special Education Teacher and as a School District Administrator. He and his family reside in Saratoga County.
Tracy Blowers, the Director of Training and Staff Development, began last January. As the new Director of Training and Staff Development, she is focused on centralizing the training function, and on the strategic and operational development and implementation of training and professional development initiatives designed to ensure that all staff have access to resources they need and that we are cultivating all the skills our staff want and/or need to continue to bring our mission to life for the people and families we support. Tracy comes to us from Davis Vision in Latham, NY where she has served as a Contact Center Manager overseeing a core team of 60 employees responsible to service the top tier client groups. She has been responsible for developing training programs and initiatives designed to hone service skills and industry knowledge, with Employee Engagement as her primary focus. She also had oversight of the Quality and Training team, responsible for designing and delivering new hire training as well as on-going training. Tracy has over 20 years experience in the training and development field with advanced skills in instructional design, training delivery and training assessment. She has also worked in the healthcare field in various roles and has extensive experience in developing both strategic and tactical initiatives to improve individuals' experience and to support a service delivery culture. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pace University and also currently serves as the Resident Director of the Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Theatre for Children.
Mark Armstrong, the Strategic Director of Home/ Housing Supports, focus his energies on partnering with agency leaders to assess current and projected needs in our residential programs and to explore innovative and creative ways for us to grow capacity within our residential and other "home-focused" supports and services. Mark comes to us from Community, Work & Independence (CWI, Inc.) in Glens Falls, NY where he has served as the Division Director of Day Services overseeing the direction, coaching and development of all Day Service Managers and the Director of Day Services. In addition, he was the Instructor Trainer in SCIP-R overseeing the direction of SCIP-R activities, and coaching and mentoring other SCIP-R instructors to ensure their continuous development. Prior to CWI, he was with Vanderheyden in Wynantskill, NY where he implemented an independent training function in his role as the Director of Learning & Development. Mark has over 13 years experience in our field, has a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Siena College, a Masters in Teaching Social Studies (7-12) from Sage Graduate School, holds his NYS OPWDD Certified Instructor-Trainer Certification in SCIP-R, was a 2013 Graduate of the Rensselaer County of Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute and has his NYS Teaching certification in Social Studies (7-12).
